Purchasing Officer - Supporting Large Construction Based Project/s

About our Client

Our client is a large construction company currently working on a large project based in Victoria. They are now looking to recruit a motivated and highly skilled Purchasing Officer to join their newly established procurement team.

Job Description

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will step into this role and have responsibility for:

  • All matters relating to the day to day management of supplier contracts
  • Monitoring supplier performance and making recommendations for improvements
  • Assisting with contract development, administration and analysis, as well as monitoring compliance to contracts
  • Managing the ongoing payments for the projects
  • Assisting the procurement group with supplier evaluation and selection of new suppliers whilst you gain valuable experience in contract negotiations
  • Respond to internal/external information requests
  • Dealing with various internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis

The Successful Applicant

You will have had experience within the building and construction, engineering consultancy or resources industry with a successful track record purchasing or procurement. You will have a thorough understanding of purchasing polices and procedures and have an eye for detail. You will need to be an excellent communicator and well organised.
