Job Description
The role of a Recruitment Consultant at Michael Page is a truly varied one, with few days being the same. Some of the core aspects, however are as follows:
- Cold & warm calling of clients to develop relationships and further develop potential opportunities with employers.
- Organising and attending client meetings.
- Maintaining and updating candidates on their search and the job market.
- Working with clients to help source, interview and feedback to candidates with regards to roles being recruited.
The above is merely a taste of what we do. The role of a consultant is varied and challenging, but ultimately very rewarding, with top performers enjoying lucrative and consistent bonuses.
Overall, we develop strong networks and relationships with both clients and candidates, and use these to bring people to companies.
The Successful Applicant
Ideally in this role, we are looking for someone with some recruitment experience, ideally in a technical area. We would also be keen to see any candidates with a technical background keen to explore a career in recruitment.
However, there is no set template for this position. We have employed ex Accountants, Lawyers, Sales & Marketing professionals, Sports professionals, Advisers and Engineers. But there are some core qualities that we look for:
- Well presented and highly professional in your external and internal dealings.
- Candidates who enjoy a varied and erratic role, with both highs and lows, and can respond accordingly both professionally and internally.
- Candidates with a Tertiary Qualification (ideally technically based in his instance), strong core values, disciplined work ethic and an ability to be both methodical and creative.
- We are happy to look at applicants from related disciplines, such as Accounting, Finance, Sales, Law and Marketing, or any professional Discipline. Some recruitment experience would also be advantageous.
- You will either be newly graduated, or have experience in a professional firm. Any experience in a technical or industrial based firm would also be highly regarded.
