The Dental Assistant is responsible for the provision of chair-side assistance to the Dentist in the delivery of dental services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) members. We are urgently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to work as a casual / relief civilian within the Dept of Defence.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory
• A minimum of 2 years full time chair-side dental assisting experience;
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high standard of care to patients and work with limited supervision within a dental surgery.
• Cert III in Dental Assisting
• Australian Citizenship


Clinical Tasks may include, but not be limited to:
• Chair-side assistance to Dentists;
• Chair-side assistance to Dental Specialists;
• Chair-side assistance to Dental Hygienists as required;
• Promotion of oral health to patients where qualified;
• Take dental intra-oral/extra-oral radiographs where licensed;
• Implement infection control procedures within the dental surgery;
• Implement infection control procedures on the reprocessing of dental instruments and equipment;
