Our client is one of the world's largest and vastest providers of technical and engineering services. In Australia, their team is almost one thousand members strong; and has offices across both coasts. Due to growth, they now require a Principal Engineer to join their Melbourne team.
This role includes:
- Developing, planning, and co-ordinating complex mechanical engineering designs
- Co-ordinating and controlling all engineering, design, and materials work carried out for projects within the group
- Maintaining standards of economy, good engineering practice, and safety in design
- Reviewing project and cost reports
- Forecasting resource requirements
- Raising any necessary variation requests for work needed to be carried out outside the original project scope
- Risk identification and management
The ideal candidate for this role will be:
- Tertiary qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensively experienced in designing and developing major chemical/petrochemical process plants
- A strong leader, with a good sense of team work and high planning and communication competencies
